There's a first for everything....

I truly enjoy blogging about our journey as parents and sharing all the pictures of our family with you...but most of all I hope that one day Kennedy and Presley will love reading this blog and cherish each memory I have tried to capture for them. Our girls bring us so much joy everyday!

Kennedy loves her Nini!

Nini, Uncle Oh Lo (AKA Uncle Eric), and Auntie are here to visit and we are so happy!  They even gave Rusty and I a baby free weekend and took care of our little angel while we visited with some friends and got some much needed REST.  Kennedy had so much fun hanging with the family and it makes me so happy when she gets to have that special time...even though I wish it was more often.  She also came home with a FULL shopping bag...and so the spoiling continues :)  Here are a few pictures I took the day I dropped her off with her Nini.  She is getting bigger everyday!

I love how she is holding her face...she always touches my face too and it is so sweet.

Nini loves you Kennedy!

Showing off her new dress Nini got her, so cute!

Too bad Kennedy isn't smiling, this is a great picture of Eric!  Love it!
And they both have baby blues!

I hope to get some more pictures when we see them again this weekend :)

Oh SNAP!

We just can't stop taking pictures of Kennedy...and when Rusty gets a hold of the camera...all you hear is snap, snap, snap!!  It is hard to not pick too many for the blog but since we have been "snapping" a lot lately, I thought I would share some favorites before her 6 month birthday.  Yes, I said 6 months!!!!!!!
I keep telling everyone that I think she is going through a growth spurt right now, she looks so big to me!

Her favorite postition in the Bumbo seat...and watching Mommy get ready :)

She just woke up here so you can see the binkie marks on her cheeks :)  I love her hands too!

Assuming the position, haha!  I think she likes to look at the granite.

Every once in a while I will catch her amazement in her own body!  I love watching her learn.

Another amazement...and I LOVE that she does this with her feet...ever since she was born :)

Once again...couch potato...and look at how she's sitting!!

Not sure what this face is but she loves sweet potatoes and butternut squash!

Why are you taking pictures of me when I am trying to EAT??!!

I had to post this because I am so excited that she is now finishing her plate most meals!
Yay Kennedy!

Moving onto the bath....this is before...no longer can I just leave her on the floor.

And this is after, a little excited I think :)

Playing with Daddy...look at those legs!

She has the sweetest smile...especially when she's smiling at her Daddy.

I think Rusty was talking Donald Duck here...

Like I said, she is growing fast and doing lots of new things.  I would have to say my favorite right now is when she smiles so big at us that her nose crinkles up and a little dimple appears high on her left cheek :)

My sweet Valentine!

I loved waking up with 2 Valentines this year...and it made me smile when Rusty brought flowers to Kennedy...and COFFEE and breakfast to mommy...times have changed a little, haha!  Another first holiday for Kennedy...and I think she is getting used to this "Mom is going to dress me up in cute outfits and take pictures of me" thing :)  Although she is obsessed with looking at the strap on the camera or with her feet so it is SO hard to catch a smile.  Auntie sent the tutu dress of course and.....well I will just let you see for yourself!

Pretty girl with pretty flowers from her Daddy in the background!

And she's over it, haha!

This was her Valentines outfit before the dress....

And the day before....yep, has no shortage of clothes :)

Our blue eyed girl!

Daddy's favorite Valentine for sure!

Here's my other special Valentine...we had a date night and got a BABYSITTER :)

Happy LOVE Day everyone!  We love you!

Boone High School 5K...first race since I was pregnant!

It was such a fun race too and right across the street from our house!  All the proceeds went to the high school for student activities.  I think because there were so many high school students running, it inspired me to run the fastest I have yet, coming in a little over 26 minutes!  This mommy definitely had to catch her breath after!  There was a group of basketball players running in front of me passing the ball back and forth...as annoying as that was, I tried to keep up with them, haha!  Our friend Lana and her twin girls, Caroline and Christina ran too, it was the very first race!  They did awesome!  Kennedy was asleep when we got there but Rusty said she was bright eyed as soon as the runners left and they turned up the radio...she loves music!  She was waiting for me at the finish line and I was so happy to see her.  I can't wait to find a race that I can run with her in.  Next race on my list...Gate River Run in Jacksonville March 10th...9 miles and over 2 bridges...oh lord!

Before the race...I think I missed the joke :)

Posting this pic because these are the boys that I stayed behind most of the race!  I passed them up once but they weren't having that for long!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Waiting for mommy at the finish line!

Clearly not interested in taking a picture with me!  It was the first race she's been to (she ran some already with me when I was pregnant) so I was trying to make the most of the memory!

My sweet angel...I LOVE her hair :)

This is how the twins felt about the race, haha!

Great race ladies!

Five months and FaNcY!

Aunt Natalie and Cousin Rylee sent Kennedy this adorable TuTu all the way from London.  I thought it would be the perfect 5 month photo opp....and it definitely was!  Oh come on, you know Kennedy will be smiling when she sees the camera coming very soon, I will have her trained, haha!  I feel like this month she has learned and changed the most.  She can now rollover...and back over...and do it all over again...it's quite the workout!  She is also eating oatmeal cereal and I introduced carrots this week (we think it is too cute when she opens wide!).  Her new favorite things are her FEET and her voice...it sounds like a bird...a LOUD, screaming bird!  I am waiting for her to do this in public!  Maybe she will be a singer :)  Anyways, her feet (and her voice) are fascinating to her these days and occupy her "downtime".  I have been waiting and waiting for her to find those feet, so fun!  Kennedy is quite the sleeper too, bedtime is at 7 and this week she has been sleeping about 10-11 hours!  Now if only Rusty and I could just go to bed when she does, yea right!  We are keeping busy with story time at the library, "playdates", and running!  She brings us so much joy and everyday I feel more blessed to be able to stay home with her to witness all this growth.  I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Are we doing another photo shoot...yep!  Happy 5 months angel!

What am I wearing??!!  And yes, her hair is growing too!

This feels different than my comfy pajamas!

I can't quite sit up yet...but SOON!

It is so hard to get her to smile for the camera since she is so distracted with everything else!

She has done this with her feet since she was born!

Look how big I am getting!  Her hair looks redish here but it's really not.

And there are her FEET!

And again...and of course she has her hand in her mouth!

She is rolling everywhere!

Under the furniture, watching TV, haha!

About to eat her carrots :)

There's a smile!

YUM!

Thank you Miss Cindy and David for our Baby cooker...this will be put to great use for sure!

We like to wait for Daddy to come home from work outside...Kennedy just couldn't make it this night...so sweet.

I love my baby girl!!
